Would you vote for Clinton just because shes a woman? Or would you vote for Obama just because he is darker skin? You could say I was there when we had our first woman President or black President.

Both women and blacks have been considered lesser citizens at one point in American history, and if Obama or Clinton got elected, their victory would represent significant progress in either gender or race relations. It would send a message to the world, and to either women or men, that America is willing to have more than white males in the White House.

But to vote solely based on race or gender is ridiculous. The presidency is an important job. I want to say, "I was there when I voted for the best candidate." Race or gender might improve my image of a candidate, but I cannot decide who to vote for based only on race or gender.

Anyone who votes for someone based only on their sex or race isn't taking everything they should into consideration for something as important as the Presidency. I'll be very glad to see a woman or black man become President.

I would at this point vote for Obama because I love it that he won't go on Faux News because of their lies and smears. He also stands up to others that try to smear him. I think he'd stand up for what he believes in, unlike a lot of the pols that have been in there longer.

He also does work for Emily's List which is an organization that puts more women in political positions and that's important to me. Women are 50% or so of the population, why are we only in 10 to 15% of the Senate and House?

Obama because he doesn't bring baggage and actually has charisma and character and a back bone. He doesn't have a family full of connections with lobbyists and big money. I don't even LOOK at his skin or the gender, I could care less about those. Why be proud of it taking so long for being here for the first women or black President to actually happen? I say it is a disgrace that it hasn't happened yet.

I won't vote for Hillary because she's Hillary - I don't care that she's a woman. She is a shrill socialist that will say anything for a vote.

I won't vote for Obama because he's Obama - I don't care that he's African American. He is too inexperienced and we can't afford to have a president that is learning about foreign policy ON-THE-JOB.

Are you aware that we had an African American woman run for president in the mid 70s? I think it was Shirley Chisim. She didn't get very far. Not because she was a woman or because of her race, it was because she wasn't qualified. Sort of like Hillary and Obama!

I would vote for Obama....not because he is black...that has nothing to do with my opinion (I am caucasian btw)....but because I like his ideas, he is less of a career politician, and he appeals to my values and ideas.....

I could support Hillary though, if it came down to it! They are both good options...she is just a little more of a politic-er than Obama!

I, btw, did not vote for W ever! I never was dumb enough to do that.....I

I'm voting for Hillary because of experience and potential and Bill's leadership will also be included. A good running mate would be Robert Rubin, Chris Dodd or Russ Feingold.
