Have all of your folders in "My Documents"

"My Videos"
"My Music"

etc.

Windows XP already provides these folders for you. If you don't have them, just make them.

windows comes with some standard folders in the My Documents for music and video. I would suggest you keep your material under some of these general headings and then have sub folders for your particular set of music or pictures or documents. then when you want to back up your data, you just have to copy my documents.

Ok all you freakin' newbies :-) ... from the days of old DOS (- look it up!!) there were certain "devices" that made a computer. The printer was used as the dos term prn: ... the screen was con: ... and then there were files that could all have the computer's output "redirected" from the actual process to an actual device. You could open a text file or just display it in a dos window, or just send it directly to the printer with no stops in between by typing "copy filename.txt > prn:" It was an amazing time, and con was just another way to say "to the screen". Obviously a folder cannot be named the same as the device it's on. Good Luck!.

Hi,

Naming is for our convenience.
Easy to find those files, you give name to that file.
so According to your convenience give your name.
