Just checking in.

If these were civilians it really doesn't matter who they were they are still statistics. They could have been immigrant workers for all we know too. Yeah, I have trouble with the idea of trying to rebuild some war torn country that's still at war and escalating also. It's a White House elephant for sure. Imagine what would happen if someone sneaked a rogue nuke in there with so many of our troops. Who would take credit for that one? How can you rebuild a now nuked country? How many of our troops are in one location at one time that this would make us most vulnerable? Than what?

sure it would be nice if freedom were free, but right now it is not.

are you suggesting that we just leave these people to the thugs that had been running the country before we arrived? And tell the people of Iran, "Oh well, too bad, at least we are not loosing any people in your fight for freedom."

The thugs in that neck of the woods believe that might is right. If you can bully your way into controlling the bulk of the economy, then more power to you.

We are over there trying to help set up a democratic society.

Will we be successful?
One can only hope.

but isn't it all about the oil? You ask that question to one of the brave soldiers over there.
That is not the reason they are fighting and dying over there.

so is it a mistake to try and help people into a better situation? this is an ageless question. I personally would feel better about our efforts if I knew that the army had ministers who preformed regular christian services so that Iran would have an example of a solid foundation. And also be helping to institute freedom of religion in Iran.

Any death is horrible for the familiies of these people. It doesn't matter is the deaths happen to soldiers, civilians, government workers, private contractors, or innocent bystanders.
As far as I'm concerned, this entire war was a waste of life, tax payers money, and hundreds of families torn apart, not only in the U.S. but worldwide.

thing is research says we cannot be shocked more by higher numbers ,to be honest most dont expect rhe truth anymore ,
it bothers me but not enough to try to change things
i been battling statistics forever ,its just numbers to most people
and any facts are as the report reveals only subjective not conclusive ,mainly because of the spin

civil stats for egsample are usually per 100,000 ,so first glance and human error sees a low stat untill the math is done ,its standard accounting practice ,mathimatics trickery ,but even correcting the lies who yet believes?

its simply unbelievable ,when even one death is not known on the personal level ,who can realise the fullness in the bigger total we call flippantly a statistic.?
600,000 plus civilians have died just by iraq numbers but where does the truth begin and end
only god knows
