I know every company is different, but in general what is the longest period you could go before accepting or rejecting a job offer?

The longest time I went before accepting or rejecting a job offer was 3 weeks. The boss really wanted me and he was willing to wait for me.

It is impossible to gereralise.
You have to stick to the terms of the Offer or you are out of luck.
The potential employer is usually in a big hurry to fill the job.

Most of the companies give you a week. Or when the one been replaced is leaving but they shoudl put it in the letter.
