I'm starting a new job in a few months and it sounds great, the responsibilities I'll have are right up my alley. The pay sounds great too but I don't really have anything to compare it to. Basically I'll be an honours degree graduate and the job I'll have will be quality control for the entire stock of the business (literally hundreds of thousands of goods!) and designer for all new product ranges. So it's a lot of responsibility. So how much do you think I should be paid my first year? And how much should I ask for in yearly pay increases assuming I do a good job? It's in a huge furniture plant and I'm in Ireland.

You should be paid an amount you are happy with and seems good to you. If you think you are being paid too much then give some to charity. If you are being paid less than you think the amount of work you do deserves get a better job.
Pay is relative and essentially variable from person to person and situation to situation. I would do a job I love for minimum wage but would not do some jobs for a thousand per hour. Job satisfaction is what matters and from what you say this seems to be a good job for you. Take it and don't worry about the pay!

If you go to totaljobs.co.uk they have a salary checker on their website. It might have your job or a similar one you could compare to. Alternatively you could phone a similar company and speak to there H.R department and ask how much the salary is there. If you explain your situation you'll probably find people willing to help you.

25k to 30k, yearly pay increase is normally at interest rate, but should include performance bonuses.

Without saying what company it is that's complicated to answer as we don't have anything to compare it to either.
