yes its normal to get exam often after 30 wks since the day is getting closer. sometimes woman go once a week after the 30wks. Its normal so don't worry much. Doctors just need to know if the baby is ok and if the baby will arrive earlier or later. congrats

Different doctors do different things, different patients need different things depending on their history and things that have happened during current pregnancy. General information on the internet will say that usually you don't get internal exams until after 35 weeks at least, but you can't depend on that. If you have concerns about it, or don't feel it's necessary, you can bring that up to the doctor, refuse the exams until later on, or switch doctors (if you think something fishy is going on). After all, even though the doctor is in charge of your health it's still your body and your choice whether or not you trust him/her and want certain things done to you.

to prepare bathe the day of, yet dont douche or use any soaps down there for roughly 40 8 hours in the previous the examination. i want to advise donning cotton "grannie" panties for the examination. First they're going to ask in case you like a female or male to do the examination in a men place of work. constantly tell them its you first time whether that's. they'll walk you interior the direction of the stairs in the event that they know it is your first time. Then the do weight, top, blood rigidity, and so on then you definately undress and get into those paper clothing nicely variety of theres a blouse like a t-blouse decrease down the front so as that they could do a breast examination , yet maximum medical doctors have a sheet which you basically set around your waist. you always could desire to be on my own to undress and redress. Then while the dr gets in they ask for the reason of flow to, and what variety of beginning administration you utilize in case you utilize any. Then they start with coaching you the self breast examination and at an analogous time as they try this they could desire to describe the right thank you to do it. they'll could desire to squeeze the nipple to be sure if something comes out, yet in hassle-free terms a rapid squeeze. Then they take a stethoscope and pay attention on your decrease abdomin. then you definately positioned your ft into stirrups and open you legs, the entire time you may desire to regularly be lined yet that area.the will seem on the exterior of your vaginal commencing off for something that is incorrect, like signs and warning signs of a std or an infection. Then after that they are going to do the pap smear. The pap smear is a sprint uncomfortable esp. while they positioned the two a metallic(which would be chilly) or a plastic speculum to "open" your vaginia up. this could be felt by utilising a great rigidity, besides the incontrovertible fact that it won't be painful, basically unconfortable. Then they take a Q-tip looking factor on the top and swab and scrape a community interior. this could be painful reckoning on sensitivity. some human beings spot slightly. Then they'll you the sparkling jelly, like vaseline, and feeling your ovaries and such from arms interior and a hand pressing down on the out area. Then the examination is completed, you sparkling your self up and dress and go away. they'll call you after approximately 2 or 3 weeks in the event that they discover something incorrect. sturdy luck!

my doctor said at 36 weeks approx. that we would start with pelvic exams. However, i am high risk, and they havent done much of anything to risk my going into premature labor.
There wasnt a friend of mine who had children that were the same. I think it depends on your particular Ob and what his/her preferences are.
Every two weeks after week 30 is normal though. My Ob stated that this is when i will start my 2 week visits. I am 28 weeks now.

Good luck to u, and CONGRATS!!!!!

No - there is no reason to allow a doctor to do an internal exam.

The information gained is essentially useless, and it introduces bacteria into the vagina, possibly into the uterus if you've already started to dilate as well.

Yes, if I remember right...that sounds pretty normal. I think once you are 36 weeks you will be asked to come in once a week.
If your doctor is making you feel uncomfortable, take someone with you every time you go in.

Pick that as 'best answer,' please, and tell your doctor to keep his hands to himself for the time being. There's no point to it.

You do not "have to" have ANYTHING done to you.

Yes, it's normal. After seven months you have to see your ob/gyn every two weeks, then after eight months it's every week until you're due.
