Not something but someone, I went through a period when alone in my flat with the outsiode door locked people would come and engage me in conversation, provided I didn't look straight at them, one glance and they were gone. they would stay for minutes or hours and some of them were old friends who I knew were dead, but all chattered on with no problem. Then I found the doctor had prescribed Diazapam and I was taking four tablets per day. I remember the scandal of 20 - 30 years ago when doctors were taken to task for dishing out this drug purely to keep elderly patients quiet and away from the surgery. I refused to take any more and my visitors stopped coming to see me, pity in a way, I had enjoyed the company, particularly that of my wife who slept beside me each night although she died five years ago. It was most comforting to have her warm body nestling up to mine once again. Maybe it was all in the head but I found nothing to be afraid of, just a little lonely when they stopped coming....................

I sincerely hope not - I'm facing the door & I'd know who was coming through it. I do, however, have my back to the window, but I'm on the 3rd floor, so I doubt I'd be in for any nasty surprises.

Uh, no but I usually jump or cringe when someone does unexpectedly. I really don't care for "space"invaders.
