Alot of factors come into play here why he wasnt arrested. The biggest being who was at fault here. Maybe no one and it was a pure accident and/or the police are still investigating and charges may be pending the outcome. He wasnt arrested because the kid was only injured as the only reason. The police must figure out who was at fault. Hes lucky he didnt kill the kid and have to face vehicular homicide charges. So wait til the end of the investigation to see if he gets charged or not before saying he got away with this. Also if he decides to leave Nevada, theyll put out a bench warrant for his arrest which will follow him wherever he goes.

They had to arrest him if it was a hit and run. Plus, they had to arrest him if he was at fault. You may want to look into this more about the laws in Nevada. But, if that's what he is telling you and you feel like he is not telling the truth or there is proof by the police to which they are still looking for this guy, you may want to report him. Otherwise you are actually aiding a criminal and are a witness as well. What you know of him can be used in the court of law.

No, there's no law in NV, or any other state, that states someone can only be arrested for hitting someone with a car if the person dies (which is basically what he said). They may not have arrested him, but there's another reason that they didn't, such as it was an *unavoidable* accident (but if he was drunk...)

if you were driving and accidentally ran over a kid would you expect to be arrested?.....no, it was an accident. if was not driving drunk or did not intentionally run over him, he not going to jail or anything. he may have to go to court, it all depends on the parents of the child and what they want to do.
it just doesn't work like that.
i can see why you asked for smart people to answer your question.

It all depends if it was an accident,Not his fault?? If it was a crime he could have been charged. If the child was in the wrong than he would not of been charged. You would have to see the police report. Hope this helps

If it was an accident (espec. caused by the kid), they wouldn't necessarilly arrest the guy: especially if he hit and run- could this be the case?

Guys will say anything to get a chick into bed. And this is proof that they'll say just about anything to keep her from getting out of bed!
