Inuyasha ended at 167 episodes in Japan. There was never any more episodes created which is why there isn't any more for Adult Swim at the end of 167. There have been announcement in Japan for plans to create any more anime episodes. So if you would like to continue the story the best bet is to pick up the manga as it continues the story.

Well, considering the Inu-Yasha anime was made in Japan, for Japanese audiences, and Adult Swim is an American company that simply licenses the dubbed version for broadcast in America, I suspect not. I don't think the makers of the anime are even aware of their American audience at all. I do know that the anime ran for about 7 seasons in Japan, though.

No, there will never be any more episodes, thank God. They might have if it would bring in enough cash in Japan, but seeing as most Japanese aren't big fans, it's out of the question
