I prefer thick things;
sausages, wallets, pizza crust, bamboo torture canes etc etc.

thin bamboo would hurt more because of the smaller surface to inflict punishment. Larger surfaces however will allow more surface to displace thus hurting slightly less.

agree with those girls above me. with a thick cane because of the greater surface area will ultimately lessen the pressure.
