The death of a friend
Life comes, Lifes goes
You don't know when it's about to end
No warnings, no signs
Maybe we should have known it from the beggining
It doesn't matter race, or age, one day you'll die
Mother told me to wait
to live good, act well and slow down
Things and opportunities will come again
the one thing she didn't say
was that life is like a candle's flame
once you light it up for the first time
as it starts to live
it get closer to death
Sometimes we get frustrated
because things don't turn out the way we want
but think about those people
who's life slipped away
did they deserve that?
did they want to die?
God gives us a reason to live for
he also offers eternal life
but what if the time comes
and a friend just dies
will he go with God to heaven, will he not?
No one told him God could save him
Does it mean they didn't care?
DOES IT MEAN I DIDN'T CARE?
I did care and I do care
my friend, my friend
I can't believe that at this age

I am very sorry to hear that and your peom almost made me cry. Your friend will not go to hell, he will go to heaven and be given a chance to live again, and somday in another life or in another plain of exestince you will hug this freind again. Please dont listen to anyone on here that tries to put you or your friend down in this time of saddness. And dont blame anything on yourself or on anyone else because that will just make you sadder. You can e mial me if you want to talk more or need to vent. Take it easy.

As an Agnostic Atheist I want to reassure you that there is no heaven or hell. There is no god to judge us, and no suffering after we die.
Chances are your friend had heard about god, even if you didn't tell him personally. It's hard NOT to know at least a little bit about different religions. Whether he believed what he heard or not is not up to him.
We can't choose what we believe. We can choose if we WANT to believe something, and that will often end up with us believing it, but we can't say "right, now I am going to believe (insert belief here)" and just believe it like that.

That was a very good poem. I have read the song that you wrote a week or so ago and this is much better. I think there was some good things about your song, but this poem has the motivation of love behind it, and that makes it great.
