I have been a fan of Martys since his days of leading the Cleveland Browns to back to back championship games in I believe 86 and 87. He is a great coach who takes teams who have players you never heard much about and finds a way to bring out talent in all of them. I think the best examples of that are say L.T. and maybe even Brian Brennan and Bernie Kosar.
If I remember correctly, I seen that Marty is still with the Chargers, he just moved to the front office. If so I think the team might show a slight downfall but I think Marty will help get people on the staff who coach the same as he does. You also have to think that for at least a couple more seasons this will still be a team of players with Marty Schottenheimer thinking in them.

I hate to assert it, yet particular. he's basically too set in his procedures. At this factor is fairly a parent head. He would not positioned on a headset. How does he supply enter? As a head coach you could't try this. i replaced into blown away that they lost a similar way they lost the Jets activity in 2004. I endure in recommendations whilst he had the huge type a million seed in KC and made a similar errors. He basically can't enable circulate of Marty Ball. It replaced into obtrusive they made no a million/2 time adjustments throughout the activity. i'm no longer a expert NFL participant. I did play in college and that i even understand that the matchups weren't working. He had a activity plan that he basically refused to alter for. The Patriots have been able to disclose the weak point with the blitz and the corners have been getting uncovered. the middle of the sphere replaced into huge open and that confirmed the Patriots the place to circulate. Why in the international once you intercept the ball attempt to run with it once you're included? stupid outcomes, the communities thoughts have been too severe and Marty because of the fact the coach did no longer ring them in and regain their concentration. there replaced into undesirable clock administration in the 4th quarter. finally it falls on the coach. Marty did no longer do adequate to enable his team win. via no longer kicking the sphere objective. He did no longer provide the Chargers a raffle to win. With 14-2 record and homestead field benefit waiting. it fairly is inexcusable. a minimum of he could have gained that activity. i've got faith if he a minimum of gained that activity human beings and administration would have forgiven him. As a Charger fan i will under no circumstances forgive him for that absolute crap of a activity plan. the guy desires to circulate and he desires to retire and stay retired. i'm thinking giving Cam a shot. I basically wish he would not practice to be like the St. Louis Rams experienced with Mike Martz. great coordinator yet no longer a great head coach. Norv Turner a similar way. you basically under no circumstances understand? i think of the Chargers could be ill to think of of each and every of the what it incredibly is. the main is Marty replaced into out coached on each and every point. understanding the Spanos relatives they gained't hearth him. he will step down after a million extra 3 hundred and sixty 5 days and could possibly retire or circulate into television or Radio. Cam or maybe Cowher often is the subsequent Chargers coach in 08.

I can think of worse coaches in NFL history than Norv Turner, but most of them weren't given as many second chances as Norv Turner. The Chargers have a talented team, but the fact of Norv Turner as head coach is enough to guarantee them a worse season next year. I say 11-5, maybe 10-6, and out in the first round.

They'll finish 10-6 in a very competative AFC West division that'll see 3 of its team's make the playoffs. The Broncos will shock everyone & win the division posting a 12-4 record after their 9-7 season a year ago, & the Chiefs will finish at 10-6 as well.

They'll be fine next year, since it's a playoff team built by Schottenheimer. I think the Chargers made a mistake in firing him, especially doing it so late.

They will do fine for about a season or two. Eventually Norv Turner will undo everything and the Chargers will be a mediocre team by 2009. Believe me, Turner was a major mistake.

That all depends on what Norv Turner decides to do with the offense. If he brings in a coordinator who runs a similar offense to the one they had last year they should do fine and win their division. On the other hand, if he goes in another direction and wants the team to learn a new offense they could be in trouble but might still squeak into the playoffs on talent alone.

It was a bad idea to get rid of him when they did, the move should have been made right after the season. But they return a similar roster and Turner will help with Rivers and crew, so offensively they will be fine. And with Rivera and the new DC they should still compete at the top of the AFC.

I am guessing the chargers will have an 8-8, 9-7, or 10-6 season.

Firing Marty was a real bad move but they have the talent to still be a major force in the AFC.
