no comments needed - this question is not about britney spears new haircut or anna nichole smith so it will probably not get that much attention.

Its sad huh? well, I clicked this link after asking a question inviting people to take my survey studying this exact problem, by the information I've gathered so far it unbelievable how many registered voters care more American Idol, rather then their county, and less that 80% of the small number of people questioned know who the Vice President of the United States is. Its sad, but I guess I'd say the reason is what people find interesting is not politics, and issues that directly impact their life, but rather entertainment and gossip that is being force feed down our throats by the media. Any who, that's my opinion, if you would like to participate in the survey I'm conducting, please visit the website below.

But Britney! But Anna!
You are so right. So many have no clue about how politics or Americas system works. Yet they can give you all the details on all of the Hollywood mongrels.
I say bring back the draft. Maybe a few mandatory years in the service for everyone will make people grow up and take more pride in America.

Most people care, but don't feel that they can make a meaningful contribution because they either don't have any individual influence over decision makers or they don't understand the problem well enough to offer a solution.

Good question. Let me answer that with a...uhhh....answer. There are two types of people, those that like the charade going on in Washington DC and those that like the charades going on in Hollywood. Some like both. My guess is that men tend to watch the Washington stuff and women lean towards Hollywood.

America is so lazy and caught up in things like american idol and britney spears......that we really forget that that is really trivial and not important.....things like global warming.....now thats what ppl should be worried about.......so sad....

Politics is nearly as pointless and shallow as the entertainment news, which is why I don't care about politics. I vote mind you and I am informed, but I don't care about politicians or their asinine rhetoric.
