Many places sell refurbished cartridges. The only place to purchase brand new ones is from Dell directly.
You can buy refilled ones at Staples, and on Ebay. I've bought from one vendor on Ebay and was pleased. The only problem with buying a refill is that the cartridge doesn't register on your fill meter, for some reason! So, a word of advise, have an extra on hand so you won't be stranded in the middle of a project!

do a google search on dell print cartridges loads of sights out there, make sure they are not refills, that will void your warrenty
