{(2a+1)/(3a)} + (5/4) - {(2a-3)/(6a^2)}
= 2a/3a + 1/3a + 5/4 - 2a/(6a^2) + 3/(6a^2)

= (2a*2a)/(3a*2a) + (1*2a)/(3a*2a) + 5/4 - 2a/(6a^2) + 3/(6a^2)
= (4a^2)/(6a^2) + 2a/(6a^2) + 5/4 - 2a/(6a^2) + 3/(6a^2)

= (4a^2)/(6a^2) + 5/4 + 3/(6a^2)
= (4a^2 +3)/(6a^2) + 5/4

Similar to the format of the answer you wanted.
Hope that helps...
