Technically it's Australia. Australia considers it self it's own country as a whole. And each territory within itself a separate state. So really the country/continent of Australia is the only continent with only one country. That's why they say Canberra is the 'national capital' as opposed to just another capital of an Australian country.

Australia it is...While New Zealand shares the same tectonic plate as Australia, it is separated from Australia by water and is an island. Similarly...some continents consist of more than one tectonic plate..but they are still continents. Australia is a political state (what we usually mean when we say country). Antarctica is not a political state...has no government..several countries have agreements to do collaborative research there and protect the environment but it is not a country.

The continent of Australasia includes Australia, Papua New Guinea, East Timor, parts of Indonesia, New Zealand and some would include Vanuatu and the Solomon Islands as well. The island nations close to Australia are as much a part of the continent of Australasia as the United Kingdom, Malta and Cyprus are parts of Europe.

The continent of Australia includes New Zealand as well.

I'd say Antarctica, although it's not technically a country.

Australia is really a part of Oceania.
Antarctica isn't technically a country, but if you had to choose an aswer, I'd go with it.
