Honestly because the Lakers can win! Clippers have only a few winning seasons in their whole time as being a team. Now thats just sad... but i am a true clipper fan that will always love the clippers! but i just wish they would win some more games, i mena they do have great talent, we just need to get rid on dunlevy and trade corey... Another reason why everyone either loves or hates the Lakers is Kobe. You either love Kobe or hate him, there is no inbetween... and when you love a player, you love the team and think, people are gonna choose the team with a top 5 player in the league and that actually get winning records and has/can get rings... people like winning teams, im sure everyone is going crazy for memphis right now, lol (only true fans of losing teams are LA and NY... im sure there are some other cities that people dont relize, but oh well...)

1.) The lakers have to greatest player in the game which is Kobe
2.) The lakers franchise is one of the best franchises ever
3.) The lakers have the greatest coach ever in Phil Jackson
4.) The lakers have produced greats such as Magic and Kareem
5.) The lakers have one more championships
6.) The lakers are the BETTER TEAM
7.) And once again they have the best player in which the game of basketball has seen in a very long time which is KOBE !!!BRYANT

Lakers have made more history and have had better teams. They had the 3peat with Kobe and Shaq a few years ago, and during that time the Clippers were terrible. But now I think that Elton Brand and Sam Cassell are bringing the Clipps back.

I don't like the Lakers. I like the Clippers much better. It's fun to cheer an underdog team and say bad words to the Lakers.

Im not sure if you know LA first hand, but I am fairly sure that the city itself is not completely Lakers country. It is true that the Lakers are loved more overall, but that is because of their legacy. With Wilt 'The Stilt' Chamberlin, Kareen Abdul-Jabaar, George Mikan, Magic Johnson and the most recent duo of Shaq and Kobe, the Lakers have a much better known and succesful history. People are drawn to success, like the Yankees.

It's basically becuase the lakers have won championships (alot) where the clippers i think have only one championship when they were still in buffalo i think it was. And the Lakers have had great players most of which are in the hall or will be in the hall (Shaq and Kobe!)
