Hi Javier,
If you were my son, I would accept you no matter what (unless you were a whacked out religious nut).
Look, only you know how your parents will react to finding out their son is gay. Usually, fathers have more problems with it than mothers. Sometimes parents can't accept it and force their kids out of their lives.
Why don't you start slowly and tell people that you know that will accept you for who you are. When the time is right and you are strong enough, you can tell your parents.
Good luck to you - you will be in my thoughts.

yes you should but do it when you are secure enough and by that i mean financially capable of supporting yourself, mentally sure of yourself to handle rejection from people you love. for ever 1 person out there whose parents were understanding and welcoming, there are 3 who got kicked out, shunned, forced into religious counselling, etc. prepare youself for realities like this. IMO 18 is a little too early to come out but then again, i don't know your particular situation. Make sure you are ready, do you have gay friends who can support you emotionally? what kind of community do you live in and how will they react to this? these are things that need to be thought out if you're still under you parents care.

Honey don't ever think you can "grow out of" who you are, if I were you I would start by telling a few close friends who may not know, then gradually tell your family, and depending on your family system, tell whoever you get along with best first ie>mom, dad bro, sis, then tell the rest...that way you'll have a good support system in place when you tell someone who might not take it well. good luck!!!!!

At your age, I think you know that you're gay. I'm glad to see you're smart enough to know it's not a phase and you cannot change who you are inside. It's for the best to come out of that closet. Whatever the response is, I think it must be done. Tell them carefully, and good luck to you!

How do you think your fam will take it if you do come out? Thats the question.. good luck dude...

I really don't see the need to come out, sometimes, depending on the circumstances it can create problems. In most cases the parents, family, already suspect and they can hanlde it better when it's not openly told to them.

Depends on your family situation...you know how your family would react better than a bunch of lazy people sitting at computers answering crazy questions all day would.

You should tell your family that your gay because like they say "blood is thicker than water". Even if they dont approve with your decision to be gay it would probably be a huge relief to them to know that you could trust them.

well, if you're certain that you are gay, then you should tell your family the truth. They will probably get use to it. And it's not that big of a deal anyways so i would tell them if i were you.

I say get out of the closet. Why have the burden of that big of a secret on your shoulders? Either they're going to accept you or not. If they don't, then it's their loss. Best of luck to you.....
