It would be better if it was in spanish

Well this isn't in Spanish, it's in English (b/c that's all I know, lol) but there are 2 songs by The Beatles that are wonderful when sung softly to babies. Here Comes the Sun and Golden Slumbers. They are great songs anyway, but when sung softly to a baby, the are awesome. My dad sang them to me and it's honestly one of my first memories :)

I completely agree with These Blue Eyes, Michele B, and isaint say, the song doesn't matter: soft, soothing tone is most important. It works like magic - it's kind of amazing. As i_love_ said, you can even make it up as you go along, which I've done too. (But I always prefer my own revised version of Twinkle, Twinkle.)

1) Soft...
2) Soothing...
3) Slow...
4) Rhythmic
5) Better to hold, cradle the baby in your arms (very slow rocking, walking, or swaying may also be helpful, depending on baby). That touch is usually pretty important for babies that have a hard time falling asleep.
6) Put soft, sincere Love into your tone & voice!!! That means you'll probably have to feel that Love in your heart, too. If it's not your baby, just imagine if it were yours.

#5 may or may not be necessary.
#1-4 are very important.
#6 is critical.

A long time ago I used to babysit for several different babies, and I don't remember this ever not working. And I'm a guy!!! You may have to do some tweaking to your style, but I'm sure you'll eventually develop something that works. Remember #6.

Any song is good to sing to a baby. And lyrics aren't important because they don't yet understand. They like the sounds and rhythmes of music. It soothes them. Just be careful to vary the songs or make sure that your favorite to sing to them is child appropriate. If they become attached to a song and want to hear it over and over, it should be appropriate.

A child's favorite lullaby and usually the first song they learn to sing.

You can sing anything, really. Your tone should be soft and melodic. Puff the magic dragon is also a good one. Nice when you are sleepy too.

Almost anything. And it depends on the baby's mood. My infant nephew loved Rock Around the Clock and He's Got the Whole World in His Hands. They'd put him right to sleep.

It is good to introduce songs, that are for the child's age group.
Check your local stores or Internet for more details. But it is also a good idea, to get some songs, in Spanish, French, English, Chinese, Japanese, Cree, Philippine, Dutch, German, Austrian, etc.

If you want Spanish songs, anything by Selena. Classical music is good for babies as well and if you can tolerate her oddness Tori amos is a hell of a piano player, I sugest her album Little Earthquakes.

the song doesn't matter. its the ton of your voice that matters. soft soothing tones in whatever language singing nothing but the grocery list will sooth babies and put them to sleep. if you want real songs anyways. go read what songs are on the back of a few baby lullaby Cd's to get some ideas.

Make up songs about anything and sing them to the baby...I've been doing that for three years and now my son things they are so funny...
