Accidents Happen! Conspiracies Don't, they just linger & prolong anxiety for those who worry so. This isn't a serious answer, just a response.

Lack of competent planning of infrastructure. Poor-quality track poorly maintained and lack of proper design of trainsets. It took a serious accident caused by a cow on the line a number of years ago to make the dimwits who were using a push-pull operation on the Glasgow-Edinburgh line a few years ago to realise that without a loco on the front of the train (when the power car was pushing from the back and only a driver's compartment on a light carriage at the front) you actually needed a cow-catcher on that end to stop the train being derailed if it hit an object on the line.

No, by all accounts it's just some brainless idiot who has put something on the tracks and derailed the train...

BTW...quite a few people have been injured, some critically, and some may have died in that crash..it's too early to tell...not really something to be joking about is it now!

Let's hope that none of your friends or relations were aboard...

nothing would stop me coming north o the border me ill just get in the car and up the m6 only thing that would put me off would be getting on a plane

Did you notice the debris on the line.someone will hopefully be prosecuted for this atrocious act of dumping rubbish on a railway line.
