in a calendar year
there are:
365 days/year * 24 hours/day * 60 minutes/hour = 525600 minutes/year
in a true year (1 rotation around the sun)
1 year = 365.242199 days
365.242199 days/year * 24 hours/day * 60 minutes/hour = 525948.76656 minutes/year

For people who don't know Google can do this, type this into the search field of Google: "1 year in minutes".
Result is: 1 year = 525948.766 minutes
That looks to me to be an average of standard years and leap years of some sort.
But sadly, it doesn't understand "1 leap year in minutes" or "1 standard year" so lets see...
365 x 1440 = 525600 = 1 standard year.
366 x 1440 = 527388 = 1 leap year.
There are 97 leap years out of 400.
So, (97 x 527388 + 303 x 525600) / 400 = 526033.59
That is close to Google but not quite.
In case Google isn't giving calendar time, the astronomical sidereal period for Earth is listed on Wikipedia as 365.256366 days so
365.256366 x 1440 = 525969.16704
Again, close, but not quite. Not sure what Google is using as it's answer. So take your pick, Google mystery time, calendar year, or astronomical year.

In a calendar year, 525,600.
In the time that it takes for the earth to orbit the sun, approximatley 525,960 for the 6 hours each year that we accumulate and then use as a leap day.
