headaches in early pregnancy are very common. I wouldn't expect them to go much past the first trimester. You can take acetaminophen (Tylenol) but nothing else (no Advil, etc.). And I doubt it's related to the sex of your child, but anything is possible.

Always check with your doctor if you have headaches during pregnancy. Check for extreme water retention and make sure you lay on you left or right side for at least 20 mins. a day. Fluids are VERY important. Drink a lot a water, milk and juices. Soda counts against you. If the headache feels like a throbbing that gets worse when you lay down and better when you stand up, call your doctor right away. You could be pre-Eclamptic. The headache is a 24 hour warning to get to a hospital. But it is a VERY specific headache and extreme water retention is also involved. NOT AWAYS blood pressure or protein in urine. There have been cases of pre-Eclampsia extending after delivery. Just take good care of yourself and if you feel something isn't right MAKE someone listen to you. Don't be polite.

With my 1st I was sick the whole nine months. The nausea never went away. It would let up a little but was always there. This time I didn't have any, so every pregnancy is different. You could have headaches if your dehydrated or not drinking enough fluid. Also if you used to drink a lot of caffeine and stopped cold turkey, that could give you headaches as well. My fried was sick until 14 weeks, so yours may still go away it just might take a little longer.

I feel ya mama. I am experiencing the same thing and they are horrible.
They are pregnancy related, most likely they are tension headaches. I can't really say when they will end. It is different for everyone.
My doctor has recommended to me to take Tylenol (do not exceed the recommended daily dosage) and apply a warm compress or heating pad to the back of your head/neck and for an extra kicker apply a cold compress to your forehead.
If you have a partner a nice neck massage tends to lessen the pain as well.
I don't know if it has to do with the sex of the child. I am having a boy... but my mom had headaches with me.

With my pregnancies, I had severe migraines. If they are bad enough, and dont seem to go away after about 8 hours, talk to your doctor(remember only tylenol(acetemetaphin). I eneded up being prescibed tylenol with codine for my migraines[also I had a son when the migraines were worse(no where near as bad with my daughter), could be a boy!]

I had migraines for a couple weeks, also. Take a limited amount of TYLENOL, nothing else! Relax, a take time to yourself. Lay around as much as possible! Also, they happen.. it because of all the hormones in your system, they will go away, i promise!

headaches are normal, and they will go away. Try meditation if the Tylenol doesn't work. Give you pain a color, I use red, and imagine it leaving your body over and over again.
