You can do lots of things when picking a name. I like doing an homage, or in America, a rip off. Try Lugosi, after the famous actor Beli Lugosi in many old vampire films. or wood. I'm currently writing a story with a Vampire and he has to keep changing his name so people won't catch on that he's been around for millennium like in the movie Highlander. So he Names himself after his former wives. Or, in medievil times peole were named after thier occupation, what did the person do for a living before he was bitten. Jaden Fisher, or Smith, Thatcher, Trapper.

i personally am not a fan of -aden/-ayden names. Jaden, Aiden, what-have-you-ayden. They just sound kind of contrived, which isn't good if you're trying to build the realistic qualitites of the character that make the reader sympathise with him. I personally like really old Gaelic names, if you're looking for something original. Also old english, and other cultures like that. you can search names by culture, by meaning, and much more at www.behindthename.com. you should try it; it's helped me many times. good luck with the naming!

how about deMont, or Sanglant (french for bloody). I've always associated vampires with french, i don't really know why, but Vampire stories are usually gothic in nature.
