I have a backless, strapless dress to wear to a party but unfortunately need a bit of support so can't go completely without a bra!
I've seen several types of stick-on bras advertised, but I don't know which is effective/comfortable. There's the disposable thin papery one which kind of cups your breasts and pulls them up at the sides or attaches at the nipple and pulls up the middle, or there's the silicone one which sticks underneath and is then joined together in the middle, and finally the silicone/fabric one which is like a normal bra at the front but with no back or shoulder straps.

Any tips / experiences with these kind of things?

Don't get the papery kind - it's hard to get them positioned right, the glue isn't that great and I don't know whose shape they are modelled on, but when you put a top on over them you end up with ridiculously shaped boobs - a bit to pointy for my liking! Also I've read about people taking allergic reactions to the glue.

I have tried the silicone 'chicken-fillet' style ones which join in the middle. These are quite good as all you have to do is wipe the sticky side with a cloth or rinse and pat dry and it is sticky again...no messing around with glues. Don't expect a massive cleavage (you never get one in strapless bras anyway!) but you do get a bit of lift and it fills you out a bit - much more of a natural shape when you put your top on. Allows natural movement, unlike the rigid carboard kind.

I was at Marshall Fields/Macys the other day and a women came in to find one, they have them there and they were very supportive and stayed up. So I'd try there, sadly I don't know a name, but they have one of the best lingerie departments, and if you can find a younger worker, they really know since they wear it more frequently. The salesclerk said it was the most popular and that it worked well for her. I hope this helps, though it is vague.

i got a really good one. the brand was eves bra. i saw other people that night with sticky on bras that kept fallin but they didnt spend an awful lot on them either. i spent £30 but its reusable unlike the others because they lose their stickiness after one night. a good bra will also come with a special lotion for cleaning around the sticky area so it doesnt lose its stickiness. just be careful taking it off. i thought my nipples were coming too!!!
