Technically, I can't remember the series because I wasn't born until after the TV Movie flopped. *lol* However, it is one of my obessions in life.
And for the record...
David McCallum's character's name was spelled Illya Kuryakin, and he was actually more popular than Robert Vaughn.
Napoleon Solo was supposed to be the man that the title refers to, but I swear it should have been renamed the Men from U.N.C.L.E. after McCallum's character took off.
Alexander Waverly was played by Leo G. Carrol
The show was produced by Norman Felton--not Mathew Raft--and was created by Sam Rolfe..

In addition to David McCallum it also featured Leo G. Carroll (who had been "Topper" on a previous series) as Mr. Waverly, the boss spy. Oh, and as I recall, UNCLE stood for United Network Command for Law and Enforcement.
And don't forget "The Girl from UNCLE," starring Stephanie Powers and Noel Harrison, Rex's boy. I believe "Girl" only lasted one season.
