It could be that one of your ovaries isn't producing an egg and that may be the reason the test was negative for ovulation. The next month the other ovary may be distributing an egg, or like you have hypothesized, the test could have been faulty. Ovulation usually occurs on the tenth to the fourteenth day of your cycle, counting from the first day of your period. If you want a boy, have sex closer to that time, since Y sperm only live for about 24 - 48 hours. X sperm can live up to 10 days. Also, it may be helpful to allow a resting period between sex so that your husbands sperm count will be higher. I wish you both luck.

Ok, let's see...you had the first day of your last period as Feb.1st? If so, you would have ovulated between the 12th and 16th of this month.(I had always thought it was 21 days, but today my doc told me it is more like 12to16days) So, if your test read negative on those days, then there are a few possibilities.
A.) Your test was faulty
B.)You were already pregnant
C.)Your ovulation is off (this is sometimes the reason we dont get pregnant)
Blessings to you!

It depends on how long your normal cycle is. I don't ovulate until CD 23 but I have 37 day cycle. You could even just be ovulating later than you normally do. I'd wait for a couple of weeks and then test because if you are pregnant, you wouldn't ovulate.

It could be either. Its only the 23rd now, so you have a little while to wait to see what happens, but if you aren't ovulating that could mean that you are pregnant, and that your last period was a "fake" one.. meaning that you were pregnant then but you still bled (without the shedding of the egg). So, take a test to see and call your doctor if you feel the need to. Good luck!
