Take the end of the new ball and knit with the old yarn for three stitches, or crochet. (hold the two strands together) Drop the old yarn and start using only the new, weaving in the end when your are finished with the scarf. This takes about 2 inches of old yarn, so if you have worked up to the very very end, frog it back a few stitches before you do this. Whatever you do, NEVER work in a knot! Knit or crochet, never ever knot the yarns. It will show through right side eventually. If you are using pure non-superwash wool, take some warm water, fray out both the old and new ends of yarn, and place them side by side and roll them really fast together in your palms, and it should felt it. Then you can continue working as if they were part of the same ball all along. Also, if you are joining a new ball, make sure it's always of the same dye lot- there is not enough room to go into why, but it will affect the consistency and color of your project. The new yarn could be much lighter, darker, or a different color altogether. So just make sure it's got the same dye # on the yarn band.

do no longer basically knot the yarn. basically knotting curiously thoroughly stupid and once you're relatively attracted to discovering to knit the acceptable suited way, that's genuinely no longer how. there's a link below for a thank you to connect yarn. The video is interior the path of the internet site with a heading that announces "turning out to be a member of Yarn." interior the video, she's knitting left-exceeded (or continental technique) yet you're able to do the top same element mutually as knitting ideal-exceeded (or the English technique). basically weave interior the ends later with a darning or yarn needle. good success!

I'm an amateur, but I would go buy some more yarn and tie it to the scarf you're knitting and cut off the extra around the knot.

Are you knitting or crochet?
Are you working in dc(double-crochet) or sc(single-crochet)?
Are you near an end or just starting out on the row?
Please email me and I will walk you through it.

"Help!" ????
Yup, sounds like a serious crisis you are having.
Just knot the new roll onto the end of the roll that is finishing and continue on...
