the parent that the child does not live with "full time"

GOOD PARENTS DO! or should i say, those who claim they love their kids... they are correct here (the posts), its the parent who has the child 'full time' (and some who even split it 50/50 in most cases too) who gets the child support.

BASICS

--there are no "fathers rights" in child support
--there are no "mothers rights" in child support
--there are ONLY the "childs rights"

all cases are different, and every state is different (slightly) about this issue. these are a possible example as to why...

IF FULL TIME (or most of the time)
you pay what? 400? 600? 900?

ok, lets see...
rent; 1000
electric 300
food 400-600
diapers 75-150 per month (fluctuates when baby is sick or teething)
heat 300
phone/cable 100
auto; (for doctors, dentists, take to school when they miss the bus, pick up when sick, pick up medicines, get food) 200
clothing/shoes/boots 200-400 every 2 to 3 months (seasonal and they grow)

that doesnt even include dental, doctors, glasses, daycare, hair cuts, school supplies, school lunches, school projects, class trips, class pictures, over the counter medicines, prescriptions, laundry det, dish det, cleaners, soap, shampoo, toothpaste, christmas, easter, halloween, tooth fairy, birthdays, etc. and sooo much more.
--------------------------

50/50 CUSTODY
1) lets say there are two kids (or one even). lets say while at their fathers, his mother is able to watch the children, put them on the bus, pick them up when sick at school (or whatever). babysit for free...

lets say while the children are at their mothers, the mothers mother is disabled, and she doesnt have a free babysitter for the children. she has to pay for such care of the children.

child support would then be ordered (in some states, for all are a slightly different) to help pay for the daycare.... for what is best for the children.

2) lets say the father has medical insurance at his job to cover said children; mother does not. children use the insurance while with both parents, so the costs would be split (for the insurance), therefor, child support will be ordered.
3) if one parent makes more money then the other parent, child support may be ordered.

so many things to be factored in...

so, it just depends. here are some child support calculators; just click on your state and fill it in.

If there is not an agreement between the mother and father, the state orders the parent that is not the custodial parent to pay the custodial parent. Custodial parent = where the child sleep's overnight 4 or more days a week.

The non-custodial parent is obligated to pay child support. The amount will vary depending on the parents income. Situations where parents have joint custody may vary, so check with a lawyer.

It not child support. It's non-custodial or mommy support.

There is no adut trail to the child only that the awardee gets the money.
Get it right, I mean the courts can't.
