Was Dennis Hastert - the previous Speaker of the House?
Do we need to change our line of succession? Or is the present system good enough?
I can't think of a better idea, but it does make me hope the pres and vp, whoever they are, stay healthy.

Very few speakers have been ready to step in if needed. Since this has not happened in the 215ears of constitutional government in the US, I'm not particularly worried about it.

I think Nancy Pelosi is qualified to be President. I don't think George W. Bush or Dick Cheney are qualified.
George Bush has lied to the American people and should never have started the war in Iraq.

I don't think that politicans are qualified for their posts, and I am not sure about the speaker's abilities, but I think that she is as qualified as anybody else. Unfortunately, there is no way to know what people are like in power until they actually get the post ...

I believe that she is qualified; I have no evidence to suggest that she is less-qualified than the present holder of the office, certainly; at least she has an IQ that is higher than room temperature.
