"Nothing lasts forever, even cold November rain"- November Rain, Guns N' Roses

"And when you're in need of someone, my heart won't deny you. So many seem so lonely with no one left to cry to, baby"- Don't Cry (Alt. Lyrics), Guns N' Roses

"I can't be holding on to what you got, when all you got is hurt"- One, U2

"All that I am, all that I ever was, is here in your perfect eyes, there all I can see"- Chasing Cars, Snow Patrol

I love them all for the same reason: they're extremely touching lyrics that took my breath away the first time I heard them.

Cheers!

Imagine there's no Heaven
It's easy if you try
No hell below us
Above us only sky
Imagine all the people
Living for today

Imagine there's no countries
It isn't hard to do
Nothing to kill or die for
And no religion too
Imagine all the people
Living life in peace

You may say that I'm a dreamer
But I'm not the only one
I hope someday you'll join us
And the world will be as one

Imagine no possessions
I wonder if you can
No need for greed or hunger
A brotherhood of man
Imagine all the people
Sharing all the world

You may say that I'm a dreamer
But I'm not the only one
I hope someday you'll join us
And the world will live as one

Imagine-John Lennon

my favorite..pretty much cuz it has all the things that could make the world a better place. all my beliefs summed up in a song.

I have so many favorites it would take all day to list them,
but here are some that I found deep meaning in when going through the I hate my parents stage of growing up.

though your place in life is where you want to be
don't let them tell you that you owe it all to me
keep on looking forward
no use to look around
hold your head above the crowd
don't let them bring you down
[I'll skip the chorus]
live for yourself there's no one else worth living for
begging hands and bleeding hearts
will only cry out for more
I know they've always told you selfishness was wrong
yet it was for me not you that I came to write this song----peart

"And you still have this pain inside you, that you carry with a certian pride, and the only part of a broken heart that you could ever save."
Billy Joel - Code of Silence
Written by Billy Joel and Cyndi Lauper

Because I have a certain pain about something in the past and I do carry it with a certain amount of pride and I never thought anyone else felt that way until I heard that lyric.

We're just two lost souls swimming in a fish bowl
year after year
Running over the same old ground
What have we found?
The same old fears
Wish you were here.

-"Wish You Were Here" by Pink Floyd
I don't know why, those have always just felt like the perfect lyrics to me.

down rodeo, by rage against the machine. It deals with racism and intolerance that people pretend does not exist anymore. racism is much more common than most people think, and it did not die in the 1900's, it still strongly exists today. this particular song by Rage caused lots of controversy, because it has violent lyrics, and its general message. I think it shows what rock music should be about: protesting problems within our society and government, and making people question some of the things that society wants them to believe

"... or writing on the surface of a lake,"
.
.
.
"sink like a stone that's been thrown in the ocean,
my logic has drowned in a sea of emotion,"

i like the whole song, but those lyrics hit me the most. why, we always seem to reach for thing that we try really hard to believe in. even though our own reality check smacks us in the forehead & we know that certain things can't be. still we try anyway. human persistence is quite a driving thing. i've been in dismally depressed states & thinking of these & such lyrics, have driven me to surpass my own limitations at those times.

Is it worth it can you even hear me
Standing with your spotlight on me
Not enough to feed the hungry
I'm tired and I felt it for awhile now
In this sea of lonely
The taste of ink is getting old
It's four o' clock in the ******* morning
Each day gets more and more like the last day
Still I can see it coming
While I'm standing in the river drowning
This could be my chance to break out
This could be my chance to say goodbye
At last it's finally over
Couldn't take this town much longer
Being half dead wasn't what I planned to be
Now I'm ready to be free
So here I am it's in my hands
And I'll savor every moment of this
So here I am alive at last
And I'll savor every moment of this
And won't you think I'm pretty
When I'm standing top the bright lit city
And I'll take your hand and pick you up
And keep you there so you can see
As long as you're alive and care
I promise I will take you there
And we'll drink and dance the night away
And we'll drink and dance the night away
savor every moment of this
As long as you're alive
Here I am
I promise I will take you there
And won't you think I'm pretty
When I'm standing top the bright lit city
And I'll take your hand and pick you up
And keep you there so you can see
As long as you're alive and care
I promise I will take you there
As long as you're alive and care
I promise I will take you there
savor every moment of this

Now I will tell you what I've done for you,
15,000 Tears I've Cried

Evanescence, Going Under

I always do so many things with no Return. Than Someone tells me I don't do anything for them. I want to know how come I go to the ends of the earth for them and they have the Gumpstion to tell me I don't do Anything. I want to know What in the world they have done for me after doing nothing but give and not getting anything out of it but the Satisfaction of doing a Good Deed than have it thrown in my face.
