I knew this seemingly wonderful man for a year, who claimed to be a mental health professional. He totally LOST IT and wound up degrading me and lashing out at me. I had red flags for a while, but this is just so shocking. Now I don't think he is who he claimed to be. SHould I be worried, or will he just leave me alone??

You just have to be 100% more wary of people online. You just do not know for sure who you are talking to. I'm sorry you had that awful experience. I have had a few myself.

Well, you could try dating me :) Then you would know that all the people you meet on the internet are not emotionally unstable. About the other guy, if he hasn't said that he is going to hurt you or anything, you should not worry. If he has made threats, tell the police.

anyone who needs the internet in order to date is either a complete looser or a person that would really like to conceal his identity.
