We are looking into next year's competition season and need choreographers for jazz, lyrical, and high kick. We have an award-winning team and would like to get some really strong choreography. Does anyone know of anyone in the so cal area who does choreography?

We have a dance program that has a 26 year history have used many, many choreographers from local studios. We need someone beyond the college level who has LOTS of experience with high school competition. If you are familiar with the high school level of performance out there, you know it's gotten VERY competitive--even moreso than studios. My daughter dances for both competitively, and far and away the most challenging is the high school level. We have a very strong parent booster group with money to invest in top-level choreography.

Well, have you looked at your local dance studios/colleges? I live in a community where there are several colleges that have dance programs. So maybe try your local colleges to see if they would have teachers, students who may be willing to work with your team. Also various dance studios in your area would love to have your team as students as well as an award winning team.
My I suggest you write/mail (have a parent or team coach assist) an introduction letter to dance schools/studios asking for some who would be willing to be a jazz dance choreographer and is capable of lyrical and high kick style for your team. You may have to negotiate a salary so be prepared. ~N~

Sorry, not from CALIFORNIA, just wanted to say hi. from an Illinois mom, who's daughters perform for the IDTA, Illinois Drill Team Association. HAVE FUN!!! Had one that graduated last year, she goes along with her sister to the competitions (maybe I should send her your way, she is bored with her office job).
