If you have not already, I suggest working in a strip club first, preferably in a management position, so you can understand exactly what goes in to a strip club. Drugs, community issues, numerous regulations, undercover police, drama...

Get a solid business plan together.

Find a place that will be acceptant of a strip club in the area. The community can show up to your permit hearing and protest. Strip clubs make a lot of revenue for the area and usually have political connections. Local club owners can make it very difficult for you to open a new club.

You need to check with your City of Commerce to see if you are allowed to open a strip club. Even if there are strip clubs already in the area, COC may not allow anymore.

Lookup your city's zoning regulations. It can be illegal to have strip clubs within so many feet of schools, churches, etc.

Consider advertisements. Are you allowed to promote your club with amateur nights, billboards, etc in this city?

It's expensive to open a new club. A friend spent 2.5 Mil to open a small strip club. Another over 4. You will probably need to find funding. If you are denied a loan, ask a club owner in the area which bank they use--a bank that is experienced in loaning money to clubs may be more willing to finance.

To obtain a liquor license in my state, you need a permit application, certification from the city secretary and county clerk, a publisher's affidavit, a personal history of affidavits, permit bonds if necessary, and a hearing with the county judge. A licensing agent (check your phone book) can help you with this process.

Dancers may need to have an entertainer's license.

This is all very general of course, you will need a lawyer to explain your city/state's specific laws and regulations (fire codes, insurance, …).

Good luck.

Don't kid yourself pal. A joint that sells alcohol and gets women to take their clothes off for money ain't no "gentlemen's club". No true gentleman would go near it.

It is a tittie bar.

This is a very tough and dirty business generally controlled by the mob. If you know what's good for you. you'll stay a long way away from this.

I think the best way to go about this is to go to the courthouse. There is a ton of business help that you can find there.
