and your goal was to end the war, what would you do?

Are the Democrats, who have vowed to end the war, following the path you would follow?

If not, why not?

It would be great if the Democrats presented a plan to end the war and achieve victory. All they are suggesting is to turn our tails and run intead of finishing what we started.

I would present Bush with a new plan (which I have if you'd like to hear it) and I would put a gun to corporate welfare's head and tell him fix the war or the pig gets it

meathook, here's the plan:

stop extraordinary rendition, stop the raids on civilian homes, and keep Americans out of Iraqi prisons and the courts and put in UN supervisers to make sure the Iraqis don't torture eachother. Reconstruct Iraq, hire Iraqis to do the work at a good pay, and protect the work sites, Make work sites the safest place to be, this will prevent people from joining militias: in a nation at war with a destroyed economy, sometimes militias are the only employers. People will stop worrying about blowing eachother up and start worrying about reconstructing their lives. If we come up with a real strategic change now, the Iraqis may trust us because they don't trust Bush, but with the new Democratic majority in Congress, it looks like Bush is being forced to change his ways. They will see that Bush was screwing things up but the U.S. isn't their enemy. As this effort continues, militia recruitment will die down, and the thinned ranks and leaders can be captured or killed by U.S.-backed Iraqi forces and tried in Iraqi courts for their crimes.

What do you think of that strategy? It comes from a liberal (but not one with any power)
