2/3 and 6/8 and not equivalent because they are not equal. 2/3 equals 0.667 and 6/8 equals 0.75. You can also simplify 6/8 to 3/4, but 3/4 is not the same as 2/3.

2/3=.666666666
3/4=.75

2/3 = 16/24
6/8 = 3/4 = 18/24
so the two fractions are not the same
that is why your kitchen measuring cups include 2/3 of a cup and 3/4 of a cup.

yes they are non-equivalent, because if you reduce 6/8 down, you get 3/4. 2/3 does not equal 3/4.

yes. 2/3=0.6666.....
6/8=3/4=0.75
they are not equivalent.
