I know what you mean, I had a very nice conversation with someone in India. A call centre moving from the UK to India has really annoyed the Indian people who have come here to work for a call centre.

Because a lot of company's set up there call centres in places like India and the far east because it's cheaper for them to recieve the calls there and employ extremely cheap labour, even though there to serve the UK and American market.
Some company's are twigging on that there is a huge language barrier and are doing something about it.

Its called " Out Sourcing " a fancy wee term for getting Indians etc...to answer the calls for peanuts...and do away with people in overpaid !!! ?? English Speaking Jobs.. Have you noticed how Happy the Indians ( in particular ) are at their work ...the dont get harrassed - they must piss themselves at us - as we get all hot and bothered on the other end of the line..

The first bloke is right ..........a lot of the call centres are in Bombay tho I did speak to a bloke who was in California.
The pay for an employee in a third world country is a lot less than in the UK

Because all the call centers have been moved to foreign countries like India where they pay people much less then they would have to in US and they get good service. It’s called OUTSOURCING.

It's called outsourcing; it's the newest trend in business -- cheaper for them to pay workers overseas. You should complain to the company you notice is doing this and bring jobs back to the US.

because it is cheaper to pay them then it would be to hire americans with good english, pretty sad indeed but very annoying to get someone you cant understand

most companies hire people from other countries in their own country to answer your questions. Its less expensive.
