if you heard about the Buffalo Sabres vs. Ottowa Senators game.....
i thought that how all the players were fighting, the goalies to, was really cool.
although the reffs are soo stupid. they always try to break up fights but i mean COME ON it's hockey for god sakes!!the reffs even put like all the players in the penalty box, they got new goalies to!!and there were like 5 penalties that they could've called on the senators but they didn't!! some NHL reffs are soo STUPID!!!
i know all this cuz i was at that game with my friend.
so...what do u think about this? plz answer

I have seen what caused the fight and also the fight itself. It is part of the game and sometimes it is entertaining.I do agree with a few things though. The refs are terrible when it comes to teams with speed and talent. Teams like the Sabres and Penguins are always getting the short end of the stick. It is because the teams are so young and quick the refs can almost call a penalty on every play into the opposing zone. And as we all know they will not do that, no matter how blatant the foul may be. That is when games get out of hand and the fighting begins. Call the penalties when they a warranted. No matter what the score or time left on the clock!!!!!

Well, I am a huge Sabres fan, and obviously.. I was watching it. Of course it's fun to see people beat each other up, when isn't it? But refs have to break it up, or they'll throw punches over and over until someone dies, or turn into a Fight Club scene. You gotta penalize the players, so what can they do, gotta punish them some how, which some players may face suspensions, fines, and a warning for Saturday's game. They most likely sent the goalies to the locker room because it was a bunch of fights, and it was all out of hand, and it was the easiest and fastest way to get everyone back to normal to finish the game. Penalties don't get called all the time, sometimes refs don't see it, it happens, can't do anything about that. Some NHL refs are pretty dumb, but Gary Bettman is retarded so he doesn't know good from bad.. well, look at what he has done to the NHL for proof. And I give Biron credit for fighting Emery (Amateur boxer earlier in his life). And Ruff had every right to send out their toughest, fighting line out there to take out their star players, this sends a message to not mess with us, or your stars are going down too. It was cool, but in the end, the Sabres won in the SO, Drew Stafford baby. And Miller.. was being Miller, another SO win, 4 saves on 4 shots, he's just too good.

i was there too ya the fight was awesome peters did such a good job beating everyones as$...im over all the uncalled penalties b/c we won anyhow. And think about this... the sabres have 6 guys out, which means theres lots of guys from rochester, not that there not awesome because they were, our co-captain was injured and we had a 2 minute 5 on 3 penalty strecth then another 2 minute 5 on 4 stretch directly after that and then finished off the OT one man short and we still beat the sens! thats how we do it in buffalo WE OWN THE CUP THIS SEASON

unfortunately i don't live close enough to go see a sabres game in person but i watch on center ice every game.i also watch other teams and the refs are not suppose to have any bias's but watching their calls makes you wander.i have seen some things done right in front of a line judge and not even called and then the most minor infraction called. i think they need to revamp the ref pool.i thought that it was ironic that the commissioner showed up at the game saturday night!!!!!!did that really make a difference? i think not!!!!! i also am curious as to how they determine who gets suspended and who doesn't. it seems as if the commissioner plays favorites to. the refs are in my opinion the cause of a lot of fights that go on in hockey(their missed calls)

I was also at this game. Although i guess i have to agree that the hit on Drury was legal, it was ridiculous. He could have easily avoided hitting him when he clearly no longer had the puck. I mean, come on. Neil obviously has no respect for other players. He obviously hit him hard too, it was not just a tap. We had every right in the world to stick up for ourselves and I'm so happy that the Sabres had a chance to kick their butts. We now have 8 players out of the line-up..how can think that we will not be extremely angry about that. I am so mad that people are sticking up for Ottawa. They have no respect for the game, and obviously Buffalo is a better team than them if we can still beat them/lose by only one point when half of our team is from the Amerks. I mean..COME ON. Go Sabres!!! If someone agrees with me email me or something... I want to talk with someone about it. parkinglot23@yahoo.com

I know what you mean, if one player pushes another player the reffs are all over it. They need to let them fight a little more for our enjoyment. Some people I know watch hockey just for the fights. I think the reffs need to let them fight a little longer,

the fighting should be extremely limited to prevent injuries to players. sabre fans especially should have been cringing after drury went down bc they can't afford another major injury. and there is no "pro-ottawa" deal with the officials. the rules are a lot looser than they used to be to keep the flow of the game.

I think it's cool you and the other answerers were at a game with a brawl in it! It's good old fashioned hockey. If you can't beat them in the parking lot you can't beat them on the ice..We need this as well as skating and shooting in the sport to make it as popular as it used to be.90 percent of the answers will favor the brawl,I bet.

This is EXACTLY what I am talking about.... someone who was at the game and has ABSOLUTELY no Idea what is going on. Last year Hockey fans went to Sabres games, now everbody goes cause My Sabres are so good it is like a party.
First... the Refs (as in any good Buffalo/Ottawa game) sucked, they are blatantly pro Ottawa. WHy does everyone only like hockey for the fights..... answer me this... why didnt YOU like it for the fact that "our" (and by our i mean my) Sabres came back from a deficit, fought off 5 on 3 as far as we could...... went without our captain and brightest stars..... and won the game. Until you can answer me that..... stay the hell outta HSBC Arena!
