I am thinking of switchin to the talktalk talk3 package with free broad band. Replies only from people who use the package please.

I'm worried about the 'fair usage policy' as it says bandwith is restricted at certain times so that people using peer-to-peer programmes (which would include me) cannot bog down the system. Would i still be able to download say a 700mb file in approx 2hrs.. or would it have none of that at all??

Also it says to buy their own modem as an option.. saying that others may not work.. but does not specify which do. my current broad band modem is a speed touch 330 ADSL. The one they try to flog with the package is an ADSL 2, but is expensive.

Thanks for any repleis

We are with talk talk. We have never had a problem with our broadband. Occasionally we cant connect to the internet but restarting sorts it out.
Downloading can take a while sometimes, things like limewire eg, but others have told me that takes a while anyway.
When we got it the modem was free.
But we dont tend to do lots of downloading so I cant truthfully say anything about it.
Thats all I know, Im not a real computer buff.

The only advice i can give u is to don't do it !! Its really not worth the hassle the service u get is p*ss poor !!
Was with them and couldn't stay online for no more than 2 mins without disconnecting ... cancelled my contract and they still took money from my bank account ... they paid it back but only after i had made complaints ... seriously think again and shop around ,... not worth it !!
