If you had more respect for yourself you'de demand a little higher caliber of a character than a drunk. If you do the things that you know you SHOULD be doing, you'll automatically develope a more respectable quality to yourself and will demand it out of who you're choosing for a life-mate.

If women weren't biologically and hormonally programmed to be stupid when it comes to men, the race would have died out long ago.

I really think that there's some chemical in our bloodstreams that makes us gullible when we're young and fertile. I mean, they've already proven that there's some chemical that lets women forget how awful labor was or, at least, minimize the negative memories.

Don't be so hard on yourself, we've all been there and done that. Especially when we have no alcholics in the family, it's hard to understand the dynamics, etc. Just be glad you didn't get pregnant with his kid!

When they say love is blind they truely mean it sometimes! When you find someone you like and have feelings for you choose not to see the things they do that bother you, at first that is, then when your with him you finally start to notice the imperfections. Everyone's got imperfections though and always remember that, but it's the imperfections that you can deal with that help you continue to be with that person. It's not your fault and you can't blame yourself. You just have to choose to learn from this and walk away. You will find better and maybe this time this boy wont let you walk away!

Almost any relationship that involves alcohol abuse is doomed before it ever gets started. You wind up "talking" to the alcohol most of the time. This relationship taught you a valuable lesson. Also, consider yourself fortunate that you didn't waste any more time with this guy. You would never have a good life with him!

Don't worry about it. It's over, he chose the beer over you. That says something about his character. You are better off without him. Move on. There are plenty more fish in the sea.

When emotions are invloved, logic is the first thing that seems to go. We see signs of things we don't like but we decided to let them slide due to the excuses they give or us, or for whatever excuses we come up for them, ourselves. The only reason I can come up with from my own experiance is that you did use your head, you just chose to ignore it.

Don’t blame yourself- you were smart b/c you got out of this unhealthy relationship. Whatever his problem is, don’t even worry about that. Let someone else put up with his crap.

Have you learned from the experience? We all feel most stupid when we are learning.
