I am past my due date by 3 days with my first child and I was just wondering if I could have conceived later than the ultrasound says.

Nope. Due dates are estimates, they just give a rough idea of when to vaguely expect your baby...baies will come when they want to.
My baby was late too.

even if u did conceive on the date that the ultrasound scan said u did, u can still go past your due date. anything between 38 and 42 weeks is considered to be a Full Term pregnancy. i was due on the monday when i had my son, and he didn't arrive until early on the following saturday morning. just try to get as much rest and sleep as u can. it's true what people say - u need to make the most of it, as it'll be the last chance u have of getting a good night's sleep for a while ! good luck, it won't be long now !

Some people go up to two weeks past their due date before they are induced. Sex is meant to be a good kick start for labour as prostaglandins in the semen 'ripen' the cervix ready for labour. Eating pineapple also has the same affect. Obviously these work for some and not for others. Get cleaning - the nesting instinct can work wonders. So can a brisk walk and hot curry! Having tried all of these none worked for me for my three pregnancies! I was induced at 10 days past my due date for all three! Hang in there.

It is possible to conceive past the ultrasounds due date. It is just like when they say your having a boy and it comes out a girl. I have a 8mth old son that they took a month early because of my blood pressure. one other thing is babies come when they want to.

Most first babies are late. My first son was 5 days late, my second son 10 days late. On both occasions my ultrasound date and my doctors date were different and neither baby came on any of them. My midwife always said that they'll come when they're ready and not before!!! Everybody told me different things to try- eating pineapple! curry or anything hot and spicy, try a hot bath, long walk or sex (or all!) The thing that seemed to work for me was Mcdonalds!!!!

My mum said I was two weeks past my due date when I was born. I had to be induced too, I guess it was just too damn comfortable in there.
Don't worry, everyone is different and every birth is different, you are fine...
Good luck with your bundle of joy and give her a kiss from me
