I feel your pain...literally. I have to wear underwire, but after a while they seem to loose their oomph..and POW...the wire snaps and pokes ya right in the boob! Then you're stuck with a one-wired underwire bra...which is no good unless you can lean to one side all day, if ya know what I mean!!! I wish there were another alternative, since the soft cups just don't cut it for large chested women.

You may be wearing the wrong size, most women are. It's be estimated that somewhere between 70 & 90 percent of all women are wearing the wrong size, or have the straps adjusted incorrectly.
I was one of them. I had measured myself and thought I was getting the correct size, but I wasn't. The band was to large, and the cup size was too small. I never really felt comfortable in a bra, but I got used to wearing them. Non-underwires were okay, but I could only wear and underwire for a few hours before it became very uncomfortable. I finally went to a lingire department and had a professional fitting. Once I strated wearing the correct size, everything got better. I felt more comfortable and confident, and I can wear an underwire all day without any discomfort at all.

I understand exactly how you feel, some days you just wanna be comfy but I just got used to the underwire and now I don't even notice the feel anymore.

My advice is to alternate wearing an underwire bra and a regular bra until you feel completley comfortable in an underwire. Or if you want to you could just never wear underwire bras and only regular. It's up to you!

Most of my bras are underwires, from Victoria's Secret. Once you get the proper fit they can be just as comfortable as a regular bra. As some of the others have pointed out, underwires do help provide a more uplifting experience for the girls.

I wear underwire for the support and the lift. Some of them can be binding, but I recently purchased some Maidenform underwire bras that are very comfortable. You might want to try a different size; I wear both 34C and 36B. The new Maindenform bras are 36B. I'm not sure if that has anything to do with making them more comfortable, but it couldn't hurt.

I like underwire but occasionally I'll get one that is poky or even queaks when I move around alot!!!! The best thing I've learned is to by a better brand and try it on in the store. Adjust all the straps so it fits perfectly and then move around a little that way you'll know if it uncomfortable.

I only wear bras with underwire...I find that it gives you more support and make your boobs look better.

I agree...I like the underwire because it gives me that extra "ump" that my small chest needs but they can be a pain literally. I prefer regular most of the time.
