She came for a weekend, spent a lot of time in the bathroom, and left with my sister's electric toothbrush. She has dentures. Should we 'phone her GP?

Spending a lot of time in the loo isn't that big a deal, the electric toothbrush?
You know how older people are. Prolly trying to preserve your sister from some imagined sin.

Hi, I work with the aging population in PA. Older people sometimes develop a disease called dementia. This affects their cognitive capabilities which often causes them to display "strange" behavior. Often time dementia will continue to progress and the person's independence continues to decrease. Contact her primary doctor to ensure that she doesn't have other underlying medical conditions. Sometimes when an older person has a UTI or some other condition is seems as if they are displaying signs of dementia. However, when the condition is treated the individual resumes their "normal" character. Good Luck.
