In a recent interview, a Sony executive stated that it wouldn't be feasible for Sony to drop the price of the PS3 until summer of 2008. Despite rumors of an imminent one, this seems to be a logical timeframe for a price drop and would mirror their strategy with the PS2.

Microsoft, on the other hand, has leaked the the newest Xbox 360 called "Zephyr" and expects it to be out sometime this year, maybe even as early as quarter 2. It will carry a 120 GB hard drive and an HDMI input. People figure it will retail for somewhere around $450 - $500. If this were the case, it would be very likely that Microsoft would drop the price of the premium system upon release of the Zephyr. No one has confirmed this, but it does seem likely considering the current price ranges for the upcoming Zephyr.

And finally, Nintendo. The Wii sells for $250, and they've made no announcements or indications that they will drop the price anytime within the next couple years. I mean, when you think about where they stand in the current console wars they have every reason not to drop the price.

I hope this was helpful.

Yes, Like everything else something bigger and badder technology wise will come out and the price will decrease. Just like a computer, you own it for two years and a faster nicer and better computer comes out. So when the PS4 and the X-Box 720 comes out all the older models will drop in price. I would say 1-3 years for the 360, 1-3 years for the Wii, and 3-4 years for the PS3

when the new 360 with 120G hd arrives to stores the older version should drop but xbox has not announced this yet as definite. the wii is already a low price and wont go lower for a long time. the ps3 Sony announced a forthcoming drop to raise its falling sales, but has yet to say how much or when. i work at a game store where we can't give the damn things away they suck so bad. the PS2 prices at various stores is real low now because everyone is clearing the warehouses since we don't expect future units.

On the next 2-3 years they will, but I think Xbox 360 will drop first because it already out before the other 2 consoles like a year ago.

It is rumored that the PS3 will be getting a price drop in Japan, and the 360 will have price drop soon (note, these are only rumors, so they may not be true). As for the Wii, it's cheap enough as it is, so there probably won't be price drop soon.

i would say 360 will not drop for another half a year. ps3, itll be a while. as far as the wii is concerned, they are not that expensive right now. expect about 50-75$ drop over the next year. GO 360!!!!!

It depends on the demand and other games coming out. I think it may stay the same since more games are being made for the board.
