Bop-It Assembly/Repair?

My son took apart an old Hasbro Bop-It game. It was still working. We have it together except for 3 little parts that we just can't figure out. I've tried looking online for assembly instructions or repair instructions with no luck so far. Does anyone know if any instructions exist without having to write to Hasbro?

was it the original Bop-it?
I found a site that shows how to disassemble it, maybe can reassemble it going in reverse, etc
