Y don't u check out the Air Canada website.They could probably get u from Saskatoon to Vancouver where they have direct flights to Sydney then u would have to catch a connector to Brisbane via Qantas or Virgin Blue.
There are no direct flights from Canada or the US that land at Brisbane

The best fare would be on WestJet from Saskatoon via Calgary to Los Angeles for about 585.00 USD - then take Quantas
via Sydney and thats running about 1341.00 USD

to "the ox" - there is a direct flight from LA to brisbane (QF176) - I was on it!! maybe the original poster could fly to LA, then to brissie from there..?
