I love both! Both are classic. This is what I found online:

JANE: A very old name, Jane has been around since Tudor times: Just as in our day Jessica replaced Jennifer, so did Jane come in to replace Joan. In this country it has moved in and out of fashion and now seems to be making a comeback. It's got that unpretentious brand of honesty so prized these days.

ANNIE: This friendly pet form of Ann was in style a century ago and is again favored as a name in its own right, having been celebrated over the years in song ("Annie Laurie," "Annie"), comic strip ("Little Orphan Annie"), folklore (Annie Oakley, born Phoebe), and film (Annie Hall). It strikes a nice old-fashioned-but-jaunty chord that appeals to today's parents — including Glenn Close, Kevin Costner, and Jamie Lee Curtis, who made it their choice. Our one caveat: Cute as the name is for a little girl, it might seem too childish or casual for a 25- or 45-year-old. Do your daughter a favor and present her with an alternative as a future option, inscribing a more formal version of the name — Anne, Anna, or even Annabel or Anastasia — on her birth certificate.

Jane. It's simple and can grow up with the child. Annie is a little too young sounding. Jane can be all ages. Annie is okay is you have red, curly hair and a dog named Sandy.

I like Annie because Jane remindes me of a lot of candies like Mary Janes and that stuff. Jane is pretty though, don't get me wrong. I think Annie is a very pretty name and it's unique. By aunts nickname is Annie. Good luck in choosing !

I love Jane as a middle name. It is one of my favorites. I love it spelled Jayne too.

Annie is very cute. I prefer Ana though. Annie is a cute nickname but I can't take an adult named Annie seriously.

I love Analeise or Anabelle with the nickname Annie/Ana.

You could always go for a combination Janna. Adorable name. :)

Ana Jane is cute and then her nn could be Annie! :)

Take Care. SD

Before I answer your question, have you considered the name Jainey? Its a combination, I love that name. And for your question; I prefer Annie; Jane is too common and plain. (Jane Doe)

I like the name Annie better.... but Jane is cute too! Annie sounds so adorable though. It is unique and not as old fashioned in my opinion.
