why can't they enjoy everyday as if tommorow would be there last day on earth.

Because most people in the US suffer from the pathology of consumerism. They work so hard just to get the newest house, car, TV, etc when in fact they would be happier if they only pursued necessities and then didn't have to work so much.

I agree with the guy above....you can't really do anything fun during the weekdays because one is too busy working, etc. On friday you get paid and you don't have to worry about going to work the next day. Most people don't realize that some day they will die, so they don't live their lives like if tomorrow was their last day on Earth

Besides, I don't want to risk being in prison if it isn't my last day on earth! LOL!
