I'm 20 yrs old and once in a blue moon I find a white hair growing in some part of my body. I have dark brown in my head and my body hair is black...why then do I sometimes grow a single white hair. Many times it's longer then the rest of my hair. Is it normal? Why do young people grow white hair?

Is white hair due to some kind of abnormality or genetic screw-up?

Yes, it is usually genetic. My aunt had white hair when she was 25. It was very beautiful and got her lots of admiring attention.

Your genetic hair trait is normally that of your mother's father. If it's not the same, ask your mother.
