does it really matter if they go to Private college or state college...given that nurses are really in demand?

No it doesn't matter at all. The only difference when it comes to getting your degree is that some of the private colleges of nursing won't require you to take an entrance exam while some of the state colleges will; so this can be a setback for some.

If you go to a 4 year school , you'll receive a Bachelors in Science- Nursing(BSN) and also a Registered Nurse(RN) certificate. If you go to a 2- 3 year Community college you will get a RN as well but not a BSN. I believe that BSNs have more skills and make more money depending on where you specialize.

Doesnt matter at all. private and state schools are really just the same except privates are more expensive.

Not at the entry-level. But if you ever want to be in nurse-management, yes it does. (and we all get old someday!)
