Personally I dont like some states making the girls get that shot. We've seen many times where people got shots or pills that killed them, made them sick, or effected their bodies for life. I dont think its the governments job to tell us we have to get our small girls shots that are new and still unsure of. With that being said when my daughters old enough I will look into it, and if safe I'll be getting her one. No I dont believe it encourages them to have sex, all teenage kids have sex all on their own. By giving the girls this shot is to protect against cancer, its not different then giving them the chicken pox shot and it encouraging them to have sex. To a point I do think the government and or schools should have some control, I dont want my kids catching something because another kids parents didnt get them the shot... but I dont agree with new shots that we arent sure about yet.

Requiring a vaccine for a sexually transmitted disease makes me very, very uneasy. It's not the same as requiring a vaccine for rubella, etc., because the children don't have a choice about avoiding exposure to those diseases. I don't for one minute believe that requiring the vaccine will encourage sexual activity -- that's not my concern at all. I do worry that these vaccines are being rushed to market before they are adequately tested and who knows, 5 years from now all these girls could develop some other kind of illness from the vaccine. Remember DES, which was prescribed to prevent miscarriages in the 50s and 60s? Oh, whoops, sorry, your daughters will have cancer, and some of them will die from DES? Oh, we goofed. I have a fear that the same type of thing could happen with the HPV vaccine.

The government DOES regulate which vaccines are required! There are exemptions based on religous beliefs, but mandatory vaccines have proven their public health worth - you're probably too young to remember polio, but there was no more feared disease, and it wasn't that long ago (1950s), and it's just about wiped out except in very poor countries because of mandatory vaccination. The death toll from diseases like measles and chicken pox far, far exceeded the very rare deaths from reactions to the injection. Thermisol-free vaccines are the norm now, which has been linked to autism.
As far as girls being encouraged to have sex - PULL-EZE! That is just incredibly ridiculous. It's really that devil rock n' roll music that makes them want to have sex, even though they never thought about it before!
I am concerned that this vaccine initiative is being driven by the pharmaceutical company that makes the vaccine, Merke. That is my objection to it being mandatory. Nevertheless, I will have my ten-year-old daughter vaccinated the next time she's at the doctors. The end result is well worth it.

If it's going to protect you from ovarian cancer and some STDS, I see no complains. But still, I do think it encourages girls to have sex because now they feel that they're protected. But stil, the government should act in the interest of all people, and making some vaccines mandatory is very beneficial for all.

i think of the main debate is over whether this vaccine could be mandatory for toddlers attending college. some public wellness officers are in want of mandatory vaccines via fact they see an risk to shrink maximum cancers. yet then politics gets in touch. The left wing would not choose rather everybody imposing on their spectacular to opt for, the excellent suited wing do no longer choose little ones to think of promiscuous intercourse is okay, and then some human beings do exactly no longer prefer to pay for the vaccine which state classes might could do whether it rather is crucial.

I think it's a good idea....we have vaccines for other diseases. Hopefully one day a vaccine for other cancers.
If getting a vaccine encourages them to have sex the parents haven't done a very good job.

Shots in the arm don't cause sexual activity. But that isn't the only reason it is being observed. It is the financial influence peddling on the behalf of a medical corporation.
